BEGINNINGS
Robert Heath Foxworth was born November 1, 1941 in Houston, Texas. His father John Howard Foxworth worked as a roofing and carpentry contractor and his mother Eina Beth Seamman was a freelance writer and journalist. From an early age acting was the only thing that interested Bob and at 18 he was already appearing at Houston's Alley Theatre. After earning a BFA in theater at Carnegie-Mellon University, Bob spent three seasons performing at the Arena Stage in Washington, D.C. From there he moved on to the American Shakespeare Festival in Stratford, Connecticut and made his off-broadway debut in 1969 in Henry V. In 1970 he received the Theatre World Award for his performance in The Crucible.
After achieving a critical success in the TV show
Sadbird for CBS Playhouse, Bob moved to Los Angeles in 1970 to star in the TV series Storefront Lawyers. Accompanying him to L.A. were his wife Marilyn McCormick (an actress) and their two children, Bo and Krystyn.
LIFE WITH LIZ
In 1974, Bob met Elizabeth Montgomery when they were cast together in the TV movie Mrs. Sundance. By the next year both Bob and Liz were divorced from their respective spouses and the couple moved in together. The thrice-divorced Liz was reticent about another marriage and the two remained unmarried for the time being..
In 1981, Bob was cast in the nighttime soap opera
Falcon Crest, (a role for which he is probably best remembered) and remained with the series for six years.
Liz and Bob appeared on the screen together twice more; in
Face to Face (1990) and With Murder in Mind (1992).
On January 28 of 1993, after living together for almost 20 years, Liz and Bob were finally married at the apartment of Liz's agent, Barry Krost. The secret ceremony was attended only by a few close friends who weren't aware they were attending a wedding until they arrived. The marriage was kept from the public until after Elizabeth's passing.
Their union ended suddenly on May 18, 1995 when Elizabeth Montgomery succumbed to cancer at the home the couple shared.
LIFE AFTER LIZ
Bob has continued to work, doing countless TV guest appearances and having a starring role in the TV series LateLine (1998-1999). His feature film appearances over the years have included Airport '77 (1977); Damien: Omen II (1978) and The Black Marble (1980).
Bob married for a third time, to Stacey Thomas, on August 2, 1998 at the Hotel Bel Air in Los Angeles. The ceremony was attended by both the bride's and groom's grown children. The couple had been dating for a year.
He is also the creator/organizer of the Los Angleles Classic Theater and is active in charitable organizations. Bob's son Bo is also an actor.
